My Nabyoo Review:
Summary:
MyNabyoo is a decent parental control program, however the website filter only works with Internet Explorer - if you have other browsers installed, you will have to select the option to disable them. MyNabyoo can capture screenshots and view them in slideshow form. MyNabyoo lacks features found in our higher ranked programs.
Website Filtering/Blocking:
During our testing, MyNabyoo was successful in blocking adult/sexual material, but other objectionable content such as violent pictures, content on drugs, etc. were allowed through. However, you are able to add custom keywords in which, if found in a page, the page will be blocked (we found that in order to make the custom keyword function to work, you must set the filter strength to 'strong'). Also there are no selectable filter categories and MyNabyoo will only filter Internet Explorer, it will not filter other browsers such as Firefox, Netscape, Opera. You can however disable access to these browsers within the MyNabyoo settings.
Other Filtering/Blocking:
MyNabyoo has the ability to block most popular P2P (file sharing) programs and allows you to choose specific programs on your computer to disable.
Monitoring:
MyNabyoo will monitor and log accessed and blocked URLs. It will also log screenshots at configured intervals and display them in a slideshow. There are no keylogging or alerting features.
Management:
MyNabyoo is fairly straightforward and easy to navigate and use.
Support:
They have an online user guide and an online contact form. They responded quickly to our support requests. |
