Parental Control Software - What is It?
Parental Control Software is a set of tools that allows parents to control what our family views and does on the Internet. Did you know that by the age of eleven, 80%% of children have seen adult content on the Internet? The worst part is that most of them were not searching for it. The adult industry is worth billions and many of the 20 companies who control 70%% of the porn links on the internet do not care if it is your child that sees it. Actually, many of them want your children to get hooked on the content so they will eventually spend money with them. Did you know that there are nearly a half a billion adult related web pages on the internet? That is almost 15%% of the total Internet!
To help protect us and our families from adult related content, chat rooms, illegal web sites and more, companies are creating software programs to control what we see and do online. Parental controls have protected millions of families from viewing and accessing inappropriate material. With parental control software, you are able to:
Allow what websites are appropriate for viewing. Control the amount of time spent online. Control what times the Internet is available. Control programs such as Instant Messengers and peer to peer programs. Review logs of websites visited, programs accessed, chat room conversations and keys typed. Many programs will alert you via email, pager or even phone when inappropriate material is accessed. And of course, block pornography and adult content from being accessed.
If you have a family, it is critical that you have a parental control program to protect your family with, you can even find some free porn blocker software programs that do a half was decent job if you can't afford to buy one, but over all, if you were to compare the cost to the actual value, you will find that they are very inexpensive for the purpose they serve.

Many of us have no idea what our family does online or who they are talking to. As a proud father of 3 children, I encourage you to start. What your children do online and who they talk to can greatly affect them. It is our responsibility to protect our child online just as it is to protect them while they are not home. I think that most of us overlook the fact that just because our family is home and on the internet, they are safe. That is far from the truth.

These issues will probably never be fully controlled, but it is something that we can control in our own family. If you are concerned with your family and I am sure you are, get parental control software to keep them safe, because the last thing that we want to see is a picture of our own child on the internet.
